GETTING TO PERTH

ARRIVING BY AIR

We will be partnering with Qantas who have agreed to provide discounted flights to conference delegates.  We are mindful of the carbon footprint that air travel has.  The Qantas Group has committed to reaching net zero carbon emissions by 2050 through doubling the number of flights being offset, capping net emissions from 2020  and investing $50 million towards developing a sustainable aviation fuel industry.

We encourage delegates to optimise their travel by extending their stay and having a holiday (vacation) and adventure experience.

There are 18 international, 12 domestic and regional, and four general aviation airlines that operate at Perth Airport, connecting travellers to more than 110 destinations around Australia and overseas. Perth Airport operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is Australia’s closest airport to South East Asia, Europe and Africa.  It is now possible to fly with Qantas direct from London through to Perth and it is anticipated that more direct routes will be available by 2024.

LOCAL TRAVEL

There is free city bus transport on within Perth City. Transperth provides bus, trains and ferry services  across the broader city. Information about accessibility, fares and timetables can be found at www.transperth.wa.gov.au

Taxis are plentiful, as are on demand transport providers (Uber, Ola and Didi). There are also a number of private charter car and coach companies operating within Perth.

AUSTRALIAN VISAS

All international visitors, except those from New Zealand, require a visa to visit Australia. A Business Visitor visa covers stays of up to three months. The Department of Immigration and Border Protection’s International Event Coordinator Network (IECN) offers free advice to people seeking to attend an event in Australia.
